Listeners that foster speakers’ English speaking learning: Effects of teaching questioning skills

概要

The present study examined the effects of teaching questioning skills to listeners on improvement of speaking skills of speakers, and their individual differences. As a result, instructing questioning skills was effective on speakers’ complexity, and if preparation time was given, more improvements of speakers’ complexity and accuracy were observed.  Analyses of aptitude treatment interaction indicated that for learners who believe grammar is important, preparation time for producing questions was effective on speaking fluency and accuracy, and grammar knowledge.
